Eilene Laymance, a resident at Life Care Center of Kirkland, Washington, has done it again.
For the seventh time, Laymance has once again been featured on hundreds of cards being sent around the country.
Each year, Life Care invites residents in its more than 220 skilled nursing and rehab facilities to submit Christmas card designs, and one piece is chosen from each of the organization’s divisions. Laymance won for the Northwest Division, covering Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah. The winning card designs are printed and distributed to facilities and regional offices throughout the company.
This year, Laymance shared a piece of home with her painting of a boat sailing and the Seattle skyline in the background, all decorated for Christmas.
“It felt great to win again!” said Laymance. “I drew my inspiration for this piece from watching the Christmas Boat Parade at Camp Pendleton when I was younger, and I wanted to combine a version of the Christmas light ride in Seattle and the Space Needle.”
